I first borrowed my Dad's Canon AE-1 Program 35mm film camera in
1991 to shoot pictures of some IndyCar drivers through the fence at the
Milwaukee Mile. I got a shot that day of racing legend A.J. Foyt, and I
was hooked. I went out, bought my own camera, a Canon EOS Elan 35mm SLR
film camera, and made it my goal to one day shoot from the other side of
that fence.
I have been shooting now for nearly 14 years. In that time I have
had photos published in numerous papers, such as National Speed Sport
News, Midwest Racing News, The Joliet Herald, The Morris Daily Herald,
and magazines such as Flat Out. I have also had the honor of having one
of my photos published in "Never Die Easy" a biography of, one of my childhood
heroes and NFL Hall of Fame running back for the Chicago Bears; the late Walter Payton.
I have been a photographer for the United Midget Auto Racing
Association for nearly 14 years and for the Route 66 Raceway nearly 6
years. I have photographed stock cars, midgets, sprint cars, Indy Cars,
NASCAR, NHRA, CORR Off-Road, Motocross, and go-karts.
My love for sports and photography has now taken me on a different
path to shooting sports other than motorsports. I am now
also covering football
(Junior College, High School & Pee Wee), little league baseball, girls
softball, soccer, and hockey.
Camera Equipment: In 2001 I purchased my first digital camera, a Canon EOS D30. Today I shoot with
the best professional equipment, a Canon EOS 1D and a
Canon 1D Mark II. For lenses I use a Canon 300mm 2.8 IS USM, a Canon
70 - 200mm 2.8 USM, a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 USM and a Canon 1.4X II Extender.
Printer and Paper:
Most photos (up to 16 X 20) will be printed in house with our Epson
Stylus 3800 Pro printer and will be printed on Epson Premium Luster
Photo Paper. This combination of printer and paper will
provide true archival photographs that are equal to any professional
photo lab.
Epson says
UltraChrome K3 Ink™ with Epson paper
will last 100+ years!
Your photos will be
printed on Premium Luster/Satin paper only. Glossy and others
are not available at FSI.
Please
understand the photos on the FSI site are previews only.
They do not reflect the full clarity and quality of your final
image. We have a limited amount of server space and must compress
our images to save space; this can make images some what fuzzy. Also
note if you are using AOL's web browser, AOL adds additional
compression to images; use a 3rd party browser like
FireFox!
